Project complete!

Here the final tiles shown on the matching background. Don't like the second one. To much going on. But Javier wanted it so and he likes it. So that's the way it is =D

Also with this the project is completed. He said he maybe has some further work for me regarding this game. I would love to do so. But we will see.

I didn't upload those on the 25 here. But I want to keep my graphics on the date I did them, so that I can see the progress I made later on. So therefore here the stuff I did at the 25th while I was out of town =D

Concepts done!

Today I finally finished all the concepts. This was important for me, because from tomorrow morning on I will be out of town and don't have internet access and so I can't communicate with my client until Sunday.

Tile set concepts

Hi guys, today I started with the 4th and last milestone of this project. Task is to create three tile sets á 5 tiles. One set for each background. Here the first concepts and some quick photoshop work which I never showed my client, because it is awful.

3rd milestone complete!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it. After three weeks of pixel kicking I finally finished the 3rd milestone. Today I pushed the last background through and it's my personal favorite. I love the reflection in the water I did and I learned so much through this piece :3

Construction and flat colors

Hey-ho everybody, I still don't feel really well but it's slowly getting better. Sadly I didn't got the job. Because my direct "concurrent" was someone how is in the industry since twenty hears, has a lot of experience and works so damn fast. It's amazing. I don't know why they ever considered me. But I'm really happy about it. I learned a lot. Also they really like my communication skills, so they offered me the opportunity to test their game and help them with the design. =)

Here now the construction lines of the third background and the basic colors slammed in!

Qualifying test

Hi guys, I applied for another freelance job and got under the best three of thirteen :D
Now I have to do a little art test. Unfortunately I have a freaking cold and feel really bad. But let's see with what I can come up with.

Hi there, today I worked a bit more on the buildings. Let all the single flames have there own glow and overlapping each other. Really like how it turned out. More work on it tomorrow!

Working on a private project

Hi guys, today I decided to work on a private project. Character development. Here you can see the process of it. The final one has oversized ears, hands and feet to emphazise her clumsiness.

Constructing the background

Hi guys, first off I really love the idea of this background. But because of the strong perspective being scrollable to the left and right could be a problem. So I attached two of those backgrounds together, so that my client could see how it looks as whole. Because you only see always a small part of the background only it shouldn't be a problem. So we went with it.

Concepts for the burning city

After the freaking long day work at Friday I needed a little time out yesterday. So here finally the concepts for the second background. In contrast to background #1 this one is only repeatable in the horizontal plane and not in all four directions. And it's also a lot more fun as painting rocks all day :D

Final background

Hi guys, I reworked the whole thing and like it much more now. Also I finished it all up in one day. Which is crazy regarding how slowly I got along with it the last days. I assume from the first concept till now there are 20 hours in. Which is way to much. But I really struggle with painting rocks, so this was challenging for me. Here the version I sent to Javier. The little window on top is simply for size relations :)
