Comp studies!

Hi guys, today I kept pumping out those compositional studies. Decided to do also some traditional ones. Unfortunately the later it got the more they turned into drawing instead of comp studies. But I still learned a lot. Eager for tomorrow, planed to finish up all the rest to the final 50. =D

28.02.2013:

Hi guys, today was our second day of working together. We didn't accomplish that much, because there was a lot of planning involved. But it's getting along nicely. So here is a little ball painted from life. Afterwards I tried to paint a similar ball from imagination in 5-10 minutes or so. And then I got the task to paint three additional balls with specific lightning in 5 mins out of my imagination. I needed 10, but nevertheless I never have thought I could have done it that fast anyway. So that's great! :D
And I finally found the courage to draw people on the way home, sitting in the train. I got a lot of strange looks, but it was really fun and you simple draw without thinking because you want to get it down as fast as possible because you never know when they move. Great exercise!

Today I worked from home, because I had a skype call and it wouldn't have been worth it to drive to my friend afterwards. But I did at least a little bit of drawing and painting^^

Hi, today is the start of a new challenge. A friend and I decided to work together. Means we met tuesday to friday from around 10 o 'clock till 5 o'clock in the afternoon. I keep working on my drawing and painting skills and he on his stuff (nothing art related). Taday was really productive. Figured out how the shadow construction worked again and learned also some new stuff about it. :D

Life drawing

25.02.2013:

Hi guys, I found the perfect start in a new week. Grab a good friend, meet in a cafe in the morning, sit down and draw what you see around you :) It was a lot of fun and I drew things I normally don't draw. Also I tried to remember how to construct shadows. But the approach isn't right. Have to do a little bit of research again :3

I tried to do some drawings from life, but my boyfriend was moving all the time, so here is the first appearance of FAT JO :D Maybe he learned from it and will hold still the next time :P The drawing in the bottom left of the first page looks much more like him...got only his lips wrong^^

Little Mermaid

25.01.2013:

Redid the mermaids body, because it looked totally wrong in case of values and structure. Like it much better this way. The farther I go with this image the more intimidating it get's. But I'm still in time. So let's see how it will turn out in the end.

Little mermaid

23.01.2013:

And this was day two on the road to my first finished personal illustration. Today I didn't achieve that much. But it's going onwards :) I fixed some proportion and anatomy issues. Especially in case of the hands. And started to add the "magic". In this case there has to happen a lot more refinement. But every step onward is one step closer to my goal. So see yah tomorrow :)

Female Anatomy

20.01.2013:

So like promised here are some anatomy studies, focusing on the torso area. Also trying to understand the underlying muscles and bones. I started doing photo studies and then tried to draw the same girl again, only this time from my memory without looking at the photo reference or my drawing of it. Also I'm still trying to figure out how I can give volume in photoshop without going into detail and spending to much time on it. I think I'm getting slowly the hang of it :3 Ah, and I traced the outline by the photoshop photo study, because it wasn't the kind of study I was going for.
