Lots of sketches

13.11.2013:

Today is a very exciting day. Because I finally finished my first sketchbook! My whole life i always drew on loose papers only, so having started a real sketchbook in December 2012 I'm glad to announce that after nearly a year I have filled it completely :D
The last sketch is already the first page of my new one. This being Din A4. So I'm really excited working twice as big as usual.

Little Mermaid

06.02.2013:

Kept working on the mermaid piece and started to put colors in to check if the values work. Used the gradient map for it. Found out that the values doesn't work. So back to value studies.

After that I needed a little break from it, so I started to paint a face from my mind. Started directly in color and like it really much :3

Female Anatomy

20.01.2013:

So like promised here are some anatomy studies, focusing on the torso area. Also trying to understand the underlying muscles and bones. I started doing photo studies and then tried to draw the same girl again, only this time from my memory without looking at the photo reference or my drawing of it. Also I'm still trying to figure out how I can give volume in photoshop without going into detail and spending to much time on it. I think I'm getting slowly the hang of it :3 Ah, and I traced the outline by the photoshop photo study, because it wasn't the kind of study I was going for.

Friday nights work

26.10.2012:

Finally I found some time to do a longer study. Primary focus on picking the right colors and secondary to try to get the shape down without an underlying lineart. So far so good. Afterwards I tried to apply this study to an imaginative piece and...well... it was my first try to do something like that. I'm glad that I found the courage to simple try it. But yeah, I have to do a lot more of them 'til they will look kind of good :)
