Hey guys, today I decided to see how much I still now about human anatomy so I painted a naked girl. Having in mind that I normally do lines only, I think this is pretty good for me.

Some commissioned work I'm doing right now for a lovely girl back on deviantart. It's far from finished. But's all the time I have for it right now. More next week!

Oh and I work from reference for this one. Is a portrait commission. =D

28.02.2013:

Hi guys, today was our second day of working together. We didn't accomplish that much, because there was a lot of planning involved. But it's getting along nicely. So here is a little ball painted from life. Afterwards I tried to paint a similar ball from imagination in 5-10 minutes or so. And then I got the task to paint three additional balls with specific lightning in 5 mins out of my imagination. I needed 10, but nevertheless I never have thought I could have done it that fast anyway. So that's great! :D
And I finally found the courage to draw people on the way home, sitting in the train. I got a lot of strange looks, but it was really fun and you simple draw without thinking because you want to get it down as fast as possible because you never know when they move. Great exercise!

Concept

17.02.2013:

Today is the last day my friend is around. From tomorrow on I will have the time again to work on my portfolio & blog. Here some little concept piece. I don't know, how much is identifiable for you. But it's enough information for me on this page to turn it into a full piece when I have the time again :)

Studies and imaginative work

4.02.2013:

I fell ill over the weekend, so no drawings or paintings done then :/
I'm not really fit now, but motivated enough to do at least a little bit :3

First of a photo study, concentration on getting the shapes, positions and proportions right. Also no
color picking.

Wanted to do some direct paintings. So I choose main color and hopped right in :3 Used only 3 brushes, two of them are basic brushes. Like the mood of it.

Color studies

29.10.2012:

She is totally off, but the main target were colors so it's ok for me^^ Also without underlying lineart to train my painting skills.

In this second one I traced the outline and then tried to pick the right colors again. Also trying to not get into details, but simply put colors on with the standard round brush :)
